La Dame Noir

For the second year running, we are happy to invite La Dame Noir back to host a stage on the Saturday night of the festival (May 26th). Based in Marseille, France, La Dame Noir is known for being one of Europe’s best clubs. It is also well regarded as being one of the spiritual homes of all things slo-mo, acid and post disco. As well as this, it’s output as a record label has seen releases from luminaries such as Zombies In Miami and Iñigo Vontier and the La Dame Noir record label has released a number of critically acclaimed compilations.

Headlining this stage is none other than Rebolledo, a true maverick presence in underground dance culture. His productions as one half of Pachanga Boys, and under his own moniker, have seen light on labels such as Cómeme, Kompakt and his own label Hippie Dance. His sound is propelled forward by psychedelic beats and rippling synthetic basslines and this is best reflected in his DJ sets as can be seen in his appearance on Boiler Room Mexico below:

Joining the bill will be Roam Recordings’ head honcho, JP Soul. A veteran of the San Francisco dance scene, he is known for impeccable DJ sets and a prolific string of productions. He has played at top events such as Block 9 at Glastonbury, Red Light Radio in Amsterdam and none other than La Dame Noir itself in Marseille. His label, Roam Recordings, has given light to many artists such as The Emperor Machine, Zombies in Miami, Tronik Youth, Curses and Heretic, all of whom are guests of Alfresco past and future.

The quality of La Dame Noir as a musical institution is no better represented than in their two resident DJ’s, Phred Noir and Relatif Yann. At the helm of the club, they truly summarise the twisted, dark and driving sound that it is best known for. Their sets on Saturday night shall be truly something to behold, with Phred making his Alfresco debut and Relatif Yann’s set at last year’s festival being widely considered as one of the highlights of the whole weekend!

Alfresco continues our ongoing partnership with the Marseille institution over this coming Easter weekend, when we host a full weekend of events in the La Dame Noir club and other venues in the city over the Easter Weekend (30th March – 1st April 18). We are hosting parties in the club on Friday 30th March and Saturday 31st March, and we are rounding off the weekend with a boat party on Easter Sunday, 1st April. We have invited a range of DJs along to play at the parties including Justin Robertson, Bird Of Paradise, Logan Fisher, Jonah Considine, Force Majeure, Field Of Dreams, Michael Prestage and residents from the club. The perfect way to spend the Easter Bank Holiday weekend!
